Max (Machgielis) Euwe was born on 20th of May 1901 and died 26th of November 1981. Euwe was the fifth World Champion 1935-37 and FIDE President 1970-1978. Euwe was also successful as an author and wrote more than 70 books!
Euwe worked for a long time as a teacher before he was a manager and later again professor at the "Economische Hogeschool of Tilburg". Alexander Münninghoff wrote the biography "Max Euwe" that is reviewed at Seagaard ChessReviews. |
